A spark of hope
The overwhelming memory that stands out in my mind from Bailie’s wedding was how hopeful we felt. After all of the 2020 event cancellations and giant wedding plans reduced to micro ones, this was our first full size wedding to happen in over a year. It was March of 2021 and we traveled just an hour down the road to Augusta Country Club. Bailie’s blushy, watercolor palette even feels like those first early spring blooms emerging after an exceptionally long and dark winter. The ceremony installation we built on site for Bailie is one of my favorites of all time and the transformation that happens with flowers still resonates with me even after doing this for a decade. Our fifteen foot floral arch took a plain brick building with white columns and created an intimate and extraordinary place fit for the sacred exchange of wedding vows. As guests filed into the rows of chairs, that feeling of hope was palpable. Maybe this beast of a year was finally starting to get behind us.
